When I first heard RRE, I thought it was Arlo Guthrie with a new band! Great band and solo shows as well ~ one of my favs.

RRE has no "weak link"
SUPAHJ wrote that "Despite Todd's superior songwriting skill his vocals are the weak link in RRE."
Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but you're the first person I've ever heard express this sentiment. You do realize that he was goofing around while singing the RV song, right?
Just another good RRE show, but IMO no standouts. 31/2 stars.
God bless the Tapers!

best peggy-o since Jerry left?
Peggy-o is really beautiful! Todds singing sounds great to me.
Milwaukee is another great show as is Chicago.
Would love to hear them do 'Good Times 'Round The Bend' with Nershi, thats a great song.

Nice recording and Nershi
Show starts out strong really good playing from all. Despite Todds superior songwriting skill his vocals are the weak link in RRE and the slower tunes suffer for that.
Highlights are 7 story, Head, Mess and all the Nershi tunes esp. Powderfinger and Peggy.
Very High Quality recording...thanks!

Sound 5-stars; Show 5-stars
I have this recording 'cause it showed up on cotapers.org first, and it sounds outstanding. The other versions up on archive now also sound great, all capturing that uniquely stellar sound the Fox always puts out. Sample all the recordings: they all sound good, so it's personal preference.
This was a really nice RRE show. Fun crowd, small venue and great tunes. A rousing Peace on Earth got everyone going. The band then settled in with a nice, long Seven Story Mountain. Been Down This Road is one of my favorites from their recent album and this is a nice lived-in version. Dangerfield is jammed out and then into a Head that stretches out into the heavens a bit and then comes back down to earth. All Alone is a really depressing song to me, but this is a well-done version. First set ends with a sweet sounding Colorado Colorado. All in all, a really tight but jammy first set.
Second set couldn't have started better than with Long Way to Go. Lonecroft Ramble is good bluegrass instrumental off their recent album. Todd sings a great RV in a funny voice and then hits us with a big I Am A Mess. This one evolves into a really enjoyable jam before stopping briefly as Bill Nershi takes the stage with his electric guitar. The band wastes no time before launching into Jellyfish, not my favorite SCI song, but this version rocks! The intro is really jazzy with Andy on sax and includes a long jam. The next two are from the new album and sounded good. But the Railroad Earth that ended the second set was beautiful as always.
What would they encore with? Never would have guessed Neil Young's Powderfinger, but boy did that sound great. Todd knew all the lyrics and the band hit all the right notes. A really sweet Sugaree to close the show. The crowd clearly wanted more, but it was not to be. Nonetheless, we walked out onto the hill in Boulder high and happy :).

This copy DOES sound AWESOME... I was never the biggest Nershi fan (I blame that stupid "Spank You Very Much On Your Bottoms" comment on Carnival '99 for my dislike) but he rips this one nicely...
The Peggy-O has not come out of my rotation yet! What a beauty... Powderfinger is sweet too... Todd is perfect for the vocals on both...
This is one of the better shows and recordings of 2008 in my opinion... Until RRE tears it up in Troy, NY next month!
If you ain't got it yet- get it!!!
